Horse Rentals
I have had many requests from people as to where they can rent horses for a trail ride. This page is information only - I have not rented horses from these barns, please use your own discretion.
Shadow Glen Stables in Fair Oaks rents horses for scenic trail rides along the American River at Lake Natoma (near Folsom Lake, off Hwy 50 in Sacramento). They offer 1 hr and 2 hr rides with longer rides available for experienced riders only during the fall, winter and early spring months by special arrangement.
They are open Mon-Thurs 8 am - 4 pm (closed Tues and Wed)

Knicker Knob Stable in Loomis offers 1 hour trail lessons which take you through oak tress, granite out croppings and meadows. 2 person minimum on trail lessons.
